In Kafi's home, there is a soft, steady sound—the hum of a nebulizer.
To others, it may sound ordinary. But to Kafi, it is the sound of relief.
Since birth, Kafi has lived with an illness that weakens his immune system, and robbed him of his sight. Over time, plagued with multiple infections, his lungs are compromised, leaving him with a persistent cough and breathing difficulty.
Each day, as the mist from the nebulizer fills the air, his breathing airways are nudged opened. The tightness in his chest eases. The coughing softens. For a moment, his world feels lighter.
While Kafi can no longer see the world — he can feel this difference. He can feel comfort.
This is what access to a simple medical equipment can do.
For families like Kafi's, living on less than $2 a day, a device like this is out of their reach. Yet it makes all the difference—between struggling for breath and breathing with ease.
With your support, more children like Kafi can have this same chance: to breathe easier and to live with less pain.
