We need YOU help!
By Mariola | Executive director
Watch the video and meet BRYAN, one of our TOP STUDENTS!
The ages when most students drop out are during their adolescence, that's why we want to improve our program. There are around 30 adolescents who could be wasting their time after school and starting to get involved with drugs or narco traffic, but instead, they are spending their free time at Lifting Hands, learning new skills and dreaming about a life project.
We are providing an integral education to youth from the disadvantaged community of Bajo de los Anonos in Costa Rica because we want all of our adolescents to stay at school, learn new skills and have better values to build a better future for themselves and their families. But we need YOUR HELP!
Lifting Hands provides a community home where veryone can come after school to receive techonoly, cooking, art, sports, and other classes to develop like skills and have a better education.
The project will give the skills and possibilities to around 230 people to breaj the poverty cycle.

New house, new responsibilities!
By Mariola Fumero | Executive Director
Some months ago we told you that we had finished paying the house where we work everyday. Thanks to the great support of many people like you who have supported us greatly, we have begun to make adjustments in the house. We started rebuilding the deck with the support of a company from Costa Rica. Then, we built a ramp in the entrance of the house so that people with discapabilities can benefit and help in our programs, and we also rebuilt the children's bathroom.
In the last few weeks we have been rebuilding two bathrooms sponsored by three companies and also, are finally building an administrative office so that the staff members could receive new volunteers and donors adequately. But we still have many pending projects. The idea is to continue adapting the house so that it is more suitable to receive children, adolescents and adults, seeking them to break the poverty circles in which they live today.

We started the year with amazing changes!
By Mariola Fumero | Executive Director

Thanks to the support of Sealand Costa Rica, we began this new year with changes in the design of our house, since we now have a new ramp at the entrance, which will allow people with disabilities to enter the foundation more easily, as well as to older adults who visit us. This ensures a safer, more reliable and inclusive environment for students, volunteers and donors, as well as being able to open our doors to more people in the community who need it and who could not do it before.
The enrollment days for the Bajo de Los Anonos community ended successfully as we closed with a total of 221 people who will be receiving a variety of courses over the next four months. In addition, we will receive many volunteers every week, some of them have been with us for several months and others are new, but all with a willing heart to dedicate their time and effort to improve the quality of life of children, adolescents and adults.
Thank you for being part of out big family!
