We paid the loan!

One year ago, we received the news that if we did not pay $ 200,000 before January 31, 2017, to buy the house, we would have to close Lifting Hands. We saw it impossible, but we could not close the doors that easy. In December we launched a campaign on social networks asking for the support of all of you, and we raised $ 80,000, and in January, a group of entrepreneurs lent us $ 120,000, which we had to cancel before August 22nd. We had fundraising activities, raffles, cooking classes, etc., and we raised $ 45,500 more. Days before the deadline, we received excellent news: we had six more months to cancel the debt. Eight days ago we finished paying!
THANK YOU! To those who donated a $1 or $1000, to those who believed in us and in this community, to all of you. The only way to achieve this was by joining and fighting together for this community that we love so much.

We have six more months to pay out loan!

It was time to repay the loan from Lifting Hands Community Home, but a month ago they gave us the excellent new that we have six more months to finish paying! At the moment we owe $ 45,500 but we have faith. We know that we will achieve it with the support of all of you! With this house, ee have been able to increase our capacity, and with this more than 200 people are benefiting from the program with more than 100 classes per week and around 180 volunteers.If you want to join the cause, you can donate to our campaign. We also want to extend you the invitation to come to Costa Rica to volunteer in our foundation through our international volunteer program. Let's lift our hands for a better future!

Good news!

We have been able to pay the debt of the house, we have ready the Report of Results of 2016 and we want to tell you the impact we had in the first quarter of this year. We are very happy for all the achievements we have had in recent months, but it is thanks to you who support us, the volunteers and the community that we can share such good news today.
As many of you know, we were raising funds to buy the house where we work with the Bajo de los Anonos. We managed to buy it with the support of many people! But we owe $ 120,000 to a group of friends who loaned us a six-month term. We already paid the first $ 20,000! This means that we are missing $ 100,000, but we have faith that we will achieve it.
Our impact for the 1st quarter of 2017:
- 4,000 people indirectly
- 200 people directly
- 130 volunteers per week
- 90 weekly courses
