It is generally accepted that the effects of the Coronavirus pandemic in 2020 will affect us all for months and years to come. Over the long-term we aim to provide hand sanitizer and supplies of soap for all our students in Honduras, Ecuador, Peru and Guatemala for when they enter and leave the schools each day to reassure parents that it is a safe place and also to reduce the chance of bringing the virus into the schools and taking the virus back home and potentially afflicting the elderly.
Dealing with the long-term effects of Coronavirus 2020 will be key to continuing education and maintaining a sanitary environment for the students and their families. Confidence to allow their children to go back to school will at the forefront of the parents' minds and we have to demonstrate responsibility and do as much as we can.
The aims are twofold. The first is to reduce the movement of the virus into the school and therefore spreading to others who can then take the virus back home. By maintaining hand sanitation when the students and teachers enter the school and leave the school it is hoped this will reduce the spread. The second is to reassure parents that we are doing the best to protect the students and the teachers and therefore their own homes and elderly relatives.
The Coronavirus 2020 will be with us for months and years to come though starting this process now, once schools re-open, and maintaining this daily, even during the calm periods, will help with future outbreaks and also hopefully reduce other diseases that are generally spread through lack of hygiene.
