We are so incredibly grateful that you elected to support our project to bring love and care for abandoned babies in Ukraine. Thank you so much.
We want to share with you how one young girl has been directly helped by the donation you have made...
Part of the support provided is with two support workers in the Baby Home (or orphanage) in the city of Kamianske. Their care is vital for the babies who have been rejected by their parents or where parents have had their parental rights removed due to neglect, poverty, drug or alcohol abuse.
Adela is 2 years old. She was born prematurely (weighing 940gr or 2lbs) in a family where the parents were alcoholics. She was brought into the Baby Home when she was 1 month old and had a diagnosis of "alcoholic amphryopathopathy" (peritoneal hypoxic damage of the central nervous system).
She is very much behind in her development. But with thanks to your financial support we gave her extra nutrition (as agreed with a doctor), took her out for walks in any weather and offered her lots and lots of love.
Now Adela can sit and stand on her own. She moves when somebody holds her hands - something she did not react to when she first attended the Home. She is a very positive child and has gained weight.
Durng these past summer months she has very much liked to play in the swimming pool.
Adela is just one baby cared for - there are many more and all with some form of developmental delays. If you feel that you can once again support this project we would be so grateful and also do share this uplifting story with yoru friends.
