In the heart of Chisinau lies the neonatal surgery ward at Moldova’s Mother & Child hospital. This vital unit, serving newborns with birth defects and congenital problems, had been facing deplorable conditions, with no refurbishment since 1986. Thanks to your support, we have undertaken the mission to transform this ward, ensuring it becomes a safe haven for newborns in need.
The year 2022 brought about unprecedented challenges, particularly with a surge in surgical procedures, driven by Ukrainian mothers seeking refuge. Your support has been instrumental in addressing these critical needs, providing a lifeline for both mothers and babies.
Through our collaboration with MAD-Aid, we are committed to refurbishing the neonatal ward, creating a nurturing environment where babies can receive the care they truly deserve. Safety is our top priority, and your generosity is making it possible to enhance the well-being of both mothers and newborns.
During a recent visit to the Mother & Child hospital, our director, Martin Wilcox, witnessed the positive impact of the refurbishment. The ward now boasts a new and inviting environment.
However, there is still an urgent need for essential medical equipment. Your generosity is already making a tangible difference.
A recent donation from Seaforde Church in Northern Ireland covered the cost of a crucial incubator and two "resuscitaires" for clinical emergencies. These tools are not just equipment; they represent the difference between life and death for newborns in need. It's heartening to see the transformative power that comes when people join together in support of a common cause. Your contribution is creating a lasting impact, providing a brighter future for these newborns and their families.
