This project aims to strengthen and consolidate the recreational therapy program for 220 children treated by the Sanar Ninos con Cancer Foundation, at the National Cancer Institute of Bogota. Ludic therapy is a strategy that will help children face the various stages of treatment, cope with the ups and downs of the process, and encourage adherence to the treatment. It will raise their spirit and help them have a better attitude.
At the Sanar Foundation, we recognize the importance of developing psychological strategies that allow children and adolescents with cancer, as well as their families, to understand the diagnosis and evolution of the disease. To overcome cancer, children and their families need to be supported and stimulated. Recreational activities offer a space for distraction and recreation and contribute to patients' emotional, cognitive, and physical well-being. Play becomes a powerful therapeutic tool,
Ludic therapy is a strategy that will help children face the various stages of treatment. Our professional team intervenes on an individual, family, and group basis, adapting to the identified needs of each patient and his/ her family. The way each individual and family faces cancer is unique, so our approach is personalized and sensitive to each specific patient and circumstance.
