Mangroves for life
Sundarbans mangrove forest is the lifeline and safe guard of almost 3.5 millions of vulnerable coastal people. It is a UNESCO declared the Natural World Heritage and RAMSAR wetland site.
Bangladesh Environment and Development Society (BEDS) is a motivated environmental development organization, working for conserving the Sundarbans mangrove forest and ecosystem as well as for the betterment of the coastal community. Riverbank erosion is a very common incident in the Sundarbans coastal region. So, to protect the coastal belt and restoration of mangroves BEDS aims at planting 100000 mangrove saplings all over the Sundarbans coastal region of Bangladesh. Target grant of the proposed project is 99,910$ and so far, 175$ is raised from eighteen donations. We hope we will be able to implement our proposed Mangrove Plantation activities in near future with the help of the donors.
People of Banishanta union under Dacope sub district of Khulna district in Bangladesh have been suffering from acuteness of riverbank erosion since last year. So, they are in a serious problem. BEDS is trying to help the victim villagers by providing them necessary advices. But lack of funding becomes the main barrier on the way to reduce erosion vulnerability of the poor villagers.
We disseminated the news among them that we are trying our level best to raise the required funds for mangrove plantation activities. This is our deepest appeal to the global community from the part of erosion vulnerable coastal people to help us for conducting the mangrove plantation and restoration activities.

Sundarbans mangrove forest is the salvation and safe guard of almost 3.2 millions of vulnerable coastal people. It is a UNESCO declared the Natural World Heritage and RAMSAR wetland site. This is the reason why BEDS wants to plant 100000 mangrove saplings all over the Sundarbans coastal region of Bangladesh. Riverbank erosion is a very common incident here. So, to protect the coastal belt and restoration of mangroves BEDS aims at this activity. We have already received two donations from respectable donors.
