Mbeere Children's Home recently lost its Administrator, Henry, in a tragic road accident, leaving his wife and small child along with 50 children under the care of the home. Henry was very much a father figure to the children who have now lost hope. The home faces a difficult period without the man who has been in charge since it was opened ten years ago. Henry's wife has taken on his role but needs help to provide for the children in the short term as plans are developed for the future.
In July 2014 the Administrator of Mbeere Children's Home was killed in a tragic road accident. Henry's death has affected his wife and child as well as the 52 children living under the care of Mbeere Children's Home. Henry was very active in soliciting donations from the local community and raising the funds for school fees. As the committee of the home start to build their own networks they need short term support to ensure the children remain well cared for.
The funds raised through this project will be used to support Mbeere Children's Home as it transitions to a new management. The children at the home are grieving the loss of Henry and feel uncertain about their future as he was known to them as the provider who worked to ensure they were fed, cared for and able to pursue their education. This project will give them the reassurance they need and will give the committee time to work on the long term plans for the home.
By ensuring that the 52 children at Mbeere Children's Home are cared for this project will give them a more secure future. Regular nutritious meals will help keep them healthy and able to concentrate on their studies at school. The funds will also be used for those students who are in secondary school and currently believe they will have to discontinue their education. Giving them reassurance that the funds are available for education will encourage them to work harder.
