Project Report | Feb 16, 2026
2026 update

By Richard Cummins | Co-director, Connie's Home, an FCF project

Meeting new family
Meeting new family

First, I (Richard) confess that I apparently don't know how to use GlobalGiving properly since I set up a 'new project' for the 2026 Budget and thought that donors to the 2025 Project would be automatically switched over to that project, but here we are doing an update to the 2025 project. Not to worry, we are receiving the funds, including those gifts made on Giving Tuesday toward the 2026 budget back in December and we are grateful for your support, especially to those who are giving monthly. It's that consistent support that allows us to weather financial uncertainties like vacancies at the rental houses (inherited from Connie's parents) that provide almost half of our monthly operating expenses. Anyway, I'll figure out how to transfer your gifts to the new project which is #73502 and will let you know if you need to do anything more.

We had an adoption in December with a young boy going to his forever family in Europe. (see photo of him meeting his new family, with Connie and the boy on the left at a distance)

Thanks to the generosity of donors, we were able to visit a covered playground and enjoy lunch with the older children (see photo of Connie and the children inside one piece of playground equipment) and visit one of the shopping malls decorated for Christmas. (see photo of children waiting by the train)

The most significant change in our home since our last GlobalGiving report was the adoption of our 11 year old foster child (oldest ever) who had been with us since he was only 3 months old. He now has a wonderful forever family who are properly resourced to help him to grow to his full potential. Please join us in giving THANKS for this difficult but rewarding transition. (see photo)
