Key Highlights of Our Work So Far

By Daniela Labra | General Director, AtentaMente

Dear Project Supporters,

Your contributions are greatly appreciated as they continue to make an impact on healthcare providers across Mexico. One participant, who works in a hospital that is treating patients with COVID 19 had this to say about her experience in the program:

"The first session captivated me. COVID has changed my life and the lives of many; I am a doctor and I want to help myself and help others, have tools [to work with my stress] and know how to use them. Thank you for accepting me."

To date, approximately 2,500 healthcare providers have completed the program. There are another 600 currently enrolled and expected to finish the program before the end of the year. As stated by another participant of the program:

"This workshop is necessary for all health personnel. In medicine we are always exposed to stress."

We rigorously evaluate our program’s success and found significant improvements in each key area of the course (attention, balance, clarity, and direction) and expected outcomes (perceived stress and burnout). This shows that the tools we offer are accessible, practical, and generate important changes in a short time. These important changes include:

  • 97% of participants feeling that it helped them face the COVID-19 crisis
  • 94% of participants reporting that the experience helped them to manage their stress levels
  • 94% reporting that they improved their patient care
  • 90% reporting better relationships with colleagues

The participants’ evaluation of the course was also high in (average: 9.9/10) and is regarded as high-quality, useful, and relevant to their work and personal life. Thanks to our evaluation efforts, we can be confident that we are making a positive difference to those who work hard and risk their lives to keep us safe during the pandemic.

We are all in this together, and we are so grateful for your generosity towards providing burnout relief for those working under tremendous mental and emotional strain during these trying times. We hope you stay healthy, stay safe, and share our efforts with your friends, family and colleagues. With your help, we can equip healthcare providers all across Latin America for the treacherous road ahead.

Kind regards,
