Thanks to your generous and continued support, this year 2,779 healthcare personnel and students of health sciences in 103+ hospitals, 460+ primary healthcare centers and 9 public universities across over 14 Mexican states have beneffited from our 12-week online program aimed at fostering the well-being, emotional resilience and mental health of professional healthcare providers.
Throughout the 12 weeks, participants took part in Zoom-based sessions and engaged in guided activities and podcast-style resources in a mobile app to strengthen their abilities to regain calmness after an unsettling scenario, know and regulate their emotions, manage stress in healthy ways, cultivate empathy, gratitude and appreciation, and reinterpret their situation in a healthier way.
We are thrilled to share that after taking the Program, 92% of participants reported perceiving an increase in their wellbeing, 93% a reduction in their levels of stress and an increase in their sense of purpose; 92% an increase in their mental health as well as in their physical health. Participants also expressed that their relationships with peers and collegues have improved significantly. In addition, among patient-facing healthcare providers, 96% expressed that they perceived improvements in their attention to patients. Through in-depth interviews, participants expressed that our program has strengthened their empathy with peers and patients, their bonds with those around them, and that they feel more equipped and empowered to navigate the challenges of their daily lives at work and at home.
This was possible, also, thanks to the joint support of other allies such as the Templeton World Charity Foundation, the Center for Healthy Minds at University of Wisconsin-Madison, and the Departments of Health of all participating States in Mexico.
We thank all of you for your support and encouragement in our efforts to ensure resources are available to care for those who dedicate their lives to caring for our physical health everyday.
