Closing the campaign, continuing with the mission!

A shared journey: what we made possible together

Dear community,

As we close this chapter of our GlobalGiving campaign, we want to pause and reflect on what we have built together since 2020. What began as an urgent response to the mental and emotional toll of COVID-19 on healthcare professionals in Mexico has grown into something much larger: a movement to care for those who care for all of us.

In the early days of the pandemic, healthcare workers were facing unprecedented levels of stress, uncertainty, and emotional exhaustion. With your support, we were able to act quickly—reaching over 2,500 healthcare professionals in the first year alone and providing them with practical tools to manage stress, regulate emotions, and sustain their wellbeing. Participants told us that the program helped them feel less alone, sleep better, communicate more effectively, and reconnect with a sense of purpose in their work.

Over time, what you helped seed became a robust, scalable, and evidence-based program. Together, we supported thousands of doctors, nurses, psychologists, and health workers across Mexico—many working on the frontlines in public hospitals and underserved communities. By 2024 alone, nearly 2,800 healthcare professionals across more than 100 hospitals and 460 primary care centers had participated in our 12-week program, reporting meaningful improvements in wellbeing, stress reduction, and quality of care  .

But your contributions did more than fund a program—they made it possible to build a model that others could believe in and invest in. Thanks to your early trust, we were able to partner with leading institutions, including the Templeton World Charity Foundation and the Center for Healthy Minds at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, to rigorously evaluate the impact of this work. Together, we conducted a large-scale randomized controlled trial—the gold standard in scientific research—confirming that the program significantly reduces anxiety, depression, and burnout, while strengthening wellbeing, emotional regulation, and compassion  .

This combination—your grassroots support alongside institutional funding and public sector partnerships—allowed us to expand in ways that would not have been possible otherwise. Today, PIBSE Salud has reached more than 8,900 healthcare professionals, educators, and health sciences students across Mexico, and has begun to be adopted by institutions such as Fundación Teletón and state health systems  . What started as an emergency response is now becoming part of a broader shift toward preventive mental health in public systems.

And yet, at its core, this story is not about numbers. It is about people. Every figure represents someone who now has the tools to navigate stress with greater clarity, to relate to others with more empathy, and to continue showing up for patients, families, and communities with strength and humanity.

None of this would have been possible without you. Your generosity did not act in isolation—it catalyzed a larger ecosystem of support. You helped demonstrate that this work matters, that it works, and that it deserves to grow. You were there at the beginning, when it mattered most.

As we close this campaign, we are not closing the mission. We are building on it.

We invite you to continue this journey with us through our next initiative: Educating for Wellbeing, where we are bringing similar tools to educators and school communities—supporting not only those who care for our health, but also those who shape the next generation.

Because caring for those who care is not a one-time effort. It is a long-term commitment.

Thank you for walking this path with us.
