MOHAK Foundation Academy is a school building project in Nasarawa State, Nigeria that aims to cater for the educational development, wellbeing, shelter, and feeding of out-of-school children populace in the region. The project aims to provide conducive learning environment by erecting physical structural facilities (which includes; 72 classrooms, Library, hostel, entrepreneurial centre and laboratory amongst others for effective learning).
In northern Nigeria, there is a bleak picture of primary school education enrollment for children below the age of 11 with a net school attendance of 53%, hence, getting Out-Of-School Children back into education poses a massive challenge. Mass Illiteracy is inextricably linked to a nexus of issues including hunger, poverty, and social injustice. In the face of social suppression, ending this malaise requires focused and sustained action that catalyses large-scale holistic and systemic change.
Being a humanitarian service centre for the less privileged, orphans, destitute and girl child, focusing on free quality education with over 200 kids which she currently caters for at the foundation academy's temporary site, the organisation is on a mission to provide conducive learning environment by facilitating great communal atmosphere amongst the children. Hence, the school construction project which aims to reduce the number of Out of School Children by at least 2,880 pupils every year.
The MOHAK foundation is positioned to work with the government and concerned individuals/ organisations to provide solution to mass illiteracy problem and stem the growing out of school children in Nigeria; enable children from not so privileged homes to read and write independently with comprehension; provide for the children their basic needs such as clothing, feeding and health care; empower children by providing training and advocacy support on entrepreneurship.
