A new beginning!

Bing Hong, with multiple disabilities and below average intelligence, is 6 years old now and joined our class in March, 2015.

I still remember the first time I met Bing Hong. He was an overly emotional child and unable to accept our instructions at all. I understood that he was not familiar with us in the new environment, and unable to participate in the learning activities. I was so surprised to see his progress after two months in the music therapy class and found that he was motivated to learn aggressively through music. I am glad to see his change and he is able to interact with classmates and plays the musical instruments well after one year. Will you believe it? Bing Hong can greet us with a loud, “Good morning” in the class. : )

A new beginning!

I am grateful to inform you that our first GlobalGiving project, Give Music Magician for Children with Developmental Delay, was fully funded by the end of June, 2016. I would like to sincerely thank all of you for your generous donation to our project. It’s been a year since we joined GlobalGiving. It’s also the first time we achieved our goal and we were excited to tell our children how people love and support them through GlobalGiving. Thank you for your encouragement!

The end is never the end. We expect to provide the assistances to early intervention children as long as they need our help. We’ve requested additional funds to continue our services, and it’s a new beginning to our project after we received the approval of our new goal.

Our project is really amazing, and we do give music magician for early intervention children. I believe we can do better than last year. By moving forward, your further participation is the key of children's hope.Thank you for your generous donations to early intervention children in Taichung. Please spread the word about our project and encourage more people to take actions to participate in the cause as you do.

Almost there! Close to reach our goal !

Making Sounds

Kevin, with speech, language and hearing disorders, is 4 years old now and joined our class in March, 2014.

“My child has troubles understanding oral instructions and expressing himself verbally. I found his progress from TFCF’s report and he has improved his interpersonal skills and concentration span a bit. Kevin could communicate with me by longer sentences and sing songs to his younger sister after he learned at the class. Even he is still limited to lots of things, I know that he has improved his stability of disorders through the music therapy class.”

I am grateful to inform you that our first GlobalGiving project, Give Music Magician for Children with Developmental Delay, has raised more than USD9000 and we are almost there to reach our goal with remaining USD749. I know we cannot do it without your support. Children with Developmental Delay do not follow the typical patterns of child development and they may suddenly reject people, act strangely, and lose language and social skills they had already acquired. Parents and caregivers play a very important key role in supporting them to progress. However, most of them have no ideas how to do and child's developmental delays can heighten family stress seriously. We were told that our children and families have been benefited from this project and they found their smiles again through the music therapy class.

Thank you for your generous donations which warm up all children and families in Taichung. We need more help to spread the word about our projects and encourage more people to take actions to participate in the cause as you do. With more donations, we will earn more smiles from children and families.

Happy New Year 2016!

Hitting the target

Tina, mild mental retardation, is 4 years old now and joined our class in May, 2014.

“We are so happy to attend the music therapy class. All teachers are great with patience and kids learned a lot from them. I have also learned songs and could interact with my little Tina by singing and dancing at home. Our favorite song is “Say Hello”, and Tina may clap her hands and step exercises. I saw her progress in talking and color matching, and it is incredible progress which I’ve ever seen. We are thankful for attending this wonderful course in TFCF Taichung City Child Development Center.”

Happy New Year 2016!

Thank you for yoursupport and assistance. 72 developmental delay children have been benefited from this project and all of them have completed one course with 16 lessons since July 2015. We have received many positive feedback from kids and families. Most of them have started the new course and we are expecting to see more positive changes from kids afterwards.

Multi-sensory equipment is designed to create a stimulating and yet calming atmosphere. They can be set up for special children and installed for therapy and education. We are going to build a lighted wall panel with customized features for our children. All sensory experience is the fundamental basic of cognitive and motor development, however, special children who have sensory processing issues cannot interpret sensory input from the environment easily. Our lighted wall may improve the concentration and reaction of children, furthermore, children may increase their exploration of the outside world by using auditory and visual stimulation to improve cognitive abilities.

The Lunar New Year is coming soon, we would like to let you know that your donation is going to play a vital role in allowing us to do good things for needy children in Taichung. Our organization wouldn’t be able to continue this valuable mission without generous people like you.
