Project ReportClassrooms of Light: Igniting Young Dreams

Moses Welfare Foundation

Introduction

Education is a child’s doorway to opportunity, dignity, and a brighter future. Yet, for many children from low-income families, the absence of basic school supplies—uniforms, shoes, books, and bags—creates barriers that hinder their ability to attend school with confidence. Through Classrooms of Light: Igniting Young Dreams, Moses Welfare Foundation is working to ensure that no child is left behind because of poverty.

Activities & Progress

  • School Kits Distribution: To date, 12 children have received complete school kits. Each kit includes a uniform, pair of shoes, school bag, books, and stationery.
  • Community Outreach: We engaged with parents, teachers, and community leaders to identify children most in need. Teachers confirm that students who received support are more confident and participative.
  • Awareness Campaigns: Local awareness sessions encouraged families to keep their children enrolled in school, highlighting the importance of education for long-term empowerment.
  • Total Budget Goal: $2,000
  • Funds Raised to Date: $33
  • Remaining Need: $1,967
  • Expenditure: 100% of funds raised so far were used to procure and distribute school kits. Each kit costs approximately $16–18 per child, depending on size and material quality.
  • Accountability: All donations are allocated exclusively for project expenses. Financial records are maintained and audited to ensure transparency.
  • Limited Funding: Current resources have only allowed partial fulfillment of the project’s vision.
  • Rising Supply Costs: Inflation in the cost of uniforms and learning materials increases per-child expenses.
  • Awareness Gap: Broader donor engagement is needed to reach the target of 100 children.

Financial OverviewChallenges

Impact

  • On Children: Beneficiaries now attend school with dignity and pride, leading to improved attendance and greater focus in class.
  • On Families: Parents, often daily wage earners, expressed relief that their children can study without the financial burden of school essentials.
  • On Community: Teachers report enhanced participation, reduced absenteeism, and stronger motivation among supported students.

Long-Term Outcomes

By equipping children with the tools to learn, we are:

  • Building a foundation for lifelong education and skill development.
  • Reducing dropout rates linked to poverty and social exclusion.
  • Creating pathways toward better employment opportunities in the future.
  • Breaking the cycle of poverty within families and communities.

Next Steps

  1. Expand fundraising efforts to achieve the $2,000 goal.
  2. Partner with additional schools and local stakeholders to identify more beneficiaries.
  3. Monitor the academic progress and attendance of supported children.
  4. Launch storytelling campaigns to highlight children’s journeys and inspire wider donor support.

Conclusion & Appeal

So far, 12 children’s dreams have been lit with hope, but 88 more are still waiting. With your generous support, we can provide every child the dignity of learning and the confidence to pursue their dreams.

Every $16–18 sponsors a full school kit for one child.
Together, let’s transform classrooms into spaces of light, opportunity, and possibility.

With deep gratitude,
