We trust you are well and our email finds you in good spirits.
The past few decades have registered a devaluation of formal education in Romania amongst children. This, coupled with a general opinion that the formal Romanian educational system is adapting way slower to the latest tendencies and upgrades in the field, are currently placing a higher importance on the sector of non formal education.
And honestly, that does not surprise us at all. Te Aud Romania has been focused on the non formal educational programs ever since founding in 2014.
The current pandemic has put a higher pressure on vulnerable groups and they way they receive their both formal and non formal education, with over 50% of children in rural areas not owning technologies for online schooling. As a result, the start of this new school year brings a higher percentage of children aged 6 -14 prone to school abandonment. The statistics cite as the main cause the lack of possibilities for them to participate in online schooling, as such facing a low level of competencies acquired.
In order to support the current situation the entire rural areas are going through, Te Aud Romania has partnered with 7 schools in rural areas of Suceava county where 140 children will go through a 6 month non formal educational program; using mini rugby as a main transfer tool. As part of the program, they will undergo personal development workshops and group counselling to increase interest towards formal schooling. We will keep you posted with the progress we make!
