Recent achievements on education and sport

Dear supporter,

I am delighted to share with you the remarkable achievements and initiatives undertaken by Te Aud România, as we proudly accept the "Social Impact Sports Initiative of the Year 2023" Award, graciously offered by Acquisition International Magazine. This accolade serves as a testament to our unwavering commitment to empowering the youth in Romania through sports and education.

1. Social Impact Sports Initiative of the Year 2023 Award

Te Aud România is thrilled to receive the NON PROFIT ORGANIZATION AWARD as the "Social Impact Sports Initiative of the Year 2023" from Acquisition International Magazine. This award recognizes our dedication to making a positive impact on the lives of children and teenagers through sports. It is an honor to be acknowledged for our relentless efforts in promoting physical activity, teamwork, and personal development among the youth. We extend our heartfelt appreciation to Acquisition International Magazine for recognizing our work and providing a platform to celebrate our accomplishments.

2. Rugby Summer Schools

One of our most exciting endeavors is the organization of Rugby Summer Schools, which exemplify the passion and dedication of our sport teachers. These enthusiastic individuals have come together to create a fantastic opportunity for kids and teenagers in Romania. The success of this initiative is primarily attributed to their unwavering commitment and love for sports.

This summer, we are thrilled to provide young hearts and minds with the opportunity to experience the joy of rugby and acquire valuable life skills under the tutelage of these inspiring teachers. The Rugby Summer Schools program aims to foster teamwork, instill a sense of discipline, and nurture the love for sports among the participants. We are enthusiastic about the positive impact that this program is expected to have on the lives of these young individuals, as they learn, grow, and forge lasting friendships through the world of rugby.

3. 'Supporting Excellence' Campaign

Te Aud România remains dedicated to the 'Supporting Excellence' campaign, in collaboration with the General Directorate for Social Assistance and Child Protection of Suceava County. Through this vital initiative, we endeavor to reward and support children and young people who excel in their studies, despite facing the challenges of not having the support of a traditional family structure.

This campaign underscores our commitment to inclusivity and promoting equal opportunities for all. By recognizing and assisting these remarkable young individuals, we aspire to provide them with the support, guidance, and resources they need to achieve their full potential and become future leaders in their communities.

4. Erasmus Sport Program

In addition to the above initiatives, Te Aud România is currently implementing an Erasmus Sport program, which is aimed at gaining insights into how other nationalities from Europe are addressing similar challenges related to youth sports and education. This program enables us to learn more about the techniques and strategies employed by our European peers. By doing so, we hope to explore best practices and gain valuable knowledge from the wider European sports community.

Our participation in the Erasmus Sport program is a significant step towards improving our approach to the challenges and opportunities we face. By collaborating with European partners and understanding their diverse experiences, we aim to enrich our strategies and ensure that our efforts remain relevant and impactful.

Te Aud România is profoundly honored to have received the "Social Impact Sports Initiative of the Year 2023" Award from Acquisition International Magazine. We are immensely proud of our Rugby Summer Schools, the 'Supporting Excellence' campaign, and our ongoing participation in the Erasmus Sport program, all of which continue to make a positive difference in the lives of the youth we serve.

Dear supporter,

We are heading rapidly towards our 9 year mark since the official launch of Te Aud Romania and within this time we have served over 37,000 direct beneficiaries through a variety of projects of interventions, some of which are developed as an annual mechanism.

Education through sports

Our most nationwide known program, Rugby for all, has been recognised by CSR Media, as part of their annual Romanian CSR Awards, courtesy of an application submitted by DHL Express Romania.

April 2023: Over 100 children have taken part in the Dolhesti Rugby Tag Cup organized by Hatmanul Sendrea Dolhestii Mari Secondary School, under the coordination of teachers Adrian Ilioaia and Marius Corduneanu.

May 2023: Over 200 children were part of the Moldova Regional Mini-Rugby Championship, a competition that brought together children from 6 clubs within Moldova region.

Nonformal education

March – May 2023: Over 400 children participated in dental hygiene workshops, courtesy of Dentalis Gura Humorului – dental and maxillofacial clinic.

April 2023: Courtesy of BCR – the biggest bank in Romania, financial workshops have taken place for our beneficiaries in a variety of locations and schools in Suceava county.

Art as a Bridge

Steps towards inclusion is a project oriented towards intercultural dialogue for social integration of Ukrainian refugee children within Romanian communities, financed by the Efectiv Civic program, developed by FDSC - Foundation for the Development of Civil Society in partnership with RAF - Romanian American Foundation.

During the month of May, we organized, alongside sports activities, collage art workshops, where, by using a variety of materials and techniques, over 85 participants could express themselves and learn about different artistic styles, whilst celebrating diversity and fostering friendships across borders.

The power that children carry with them lies in mobilising communities and grassroots stakeholders, so we can all unite in bridging the gap between past and present. We take this opportunity to thank you for all of your support.

Education - the ultimate strength

Dear supporter,

In 2015, Te Aud Romania Foundation (TAR ) raised awareness for the first time about social development through sports in Suceava County. Eight years later since the official launch of the foundation, we have over 37,000 direct beneficiaries of the projects carried out by TAR, gathered in countless events to help children and young people develop harmoniously and prepare them for adult life. The common denominator for all of these children is EDUCATION.

As a charity focused on non-formal educational programs for children, we have worked alongside national and international partners to develop medium to long term solutions for all of our children, including the Ukrainian refugee children fleeing away from the war and taking shelter in Suceava county.

Sports for change

Sport has been attributed to building stronger communities, as a tool for social development for many decades now, at international level. Rugby for all, a program you are all acquainted with, has been maximising the role of sport in youth development since 2017. Our project has gained a new dimension.

We have launched the Sports for change guide – the first attempt on the Romanian market to provide organisations and communities across the country with methodology and good practices in order to increase the social impact of sports in Romania. The Rugby for all story is a book that encourages all of those involved in grass root sports to share their stories with the world, promote them and implement projects that further contribute to sports role as a changemaker in societies.

Communication

We started a series of communication workshops for all of our students, designed and implemented by Oana Vasiliu - TAR communications' expert. The main conversation points were centred around social media importance and best practices for the future.

Ukrainian refugees

The power of sports to address key societal issues has extended to the refugee paradigm. We have supported 37 UA refugee children aged 7 -16 and 15 Romanian children to further integrate in their host county via a week of dedicated sport events and activities.

Vocational testing

We continue the vocational testing within Steps Towards the Future program, the project supported by the We Care Foundation / Noua Ne Pasa for 75 children, aged 13-14.

Social protection

The orphanages of Romania have shocked the entire world in 1989. The truth is that since then, social protection policies and methodologies have massively improved, with commitment from public actors, non-governmental organisations and other public actors involved in the field.

Particularly for Suceava county, we have celebrated at the back end of last year, their 25 years of service for children and adults with disabilities in the region. The moment was marked by the launch of a book that shows the progress, their activity report, the courage and commitment of external entities, but above all – it places their beneficiaries at the forefront of everything we do.

Social protection – between a pandemic and a war, the book launched on 25th November 2022, portrays a series of stories written by children and adults with disabilities from Suceava county, under the great care and guidance of Oana Vasiliu, freelance journalist & communication specialist for Te Aud Romania, courtesy of Nadia Cretuleac, director of DGASPC Suceava.

Projects for 2023

Te Aud Romania launches Leadership Together in partnership with Beyond Sport Foundation, a project which aims to equip sport technicians with much required abilities in order to further promote the role of sport and enhance its part in building a better future.

Being a grassroot organization is not always easy, we can’t employ a one-size-fits-all-approach to address all issues discovered on the field, but we struggle to bring hope for those truly in need. And for this, we thank you for your goodwill and implication with Te Aud Romania.
