This project will strengthen the capacities of non-profit and civil society organizations, social enterprises, and local governments, in Colombia and Latin America, through personalized support and group trainings. These organizations will have tools and knowledge to provide better services, be more efficient in the search and use of resources, improve the monitoring and evaluation of the projects and improve their actions with updated and relevant information.
Non-profits and social organizations work to reduce inequality and poverty, improving the life of millions of people. However, these organizations face great challenges and inefficiencies in the management of their resources, the use of technology, the lack of adequate tools, access to knowledge, financing sources and national and international partnerships and cooperation. The important ideas and projects designed by these organizations face a big obstacles in the lack of training and support.
Makaia will offer training and institutional strengthening tools for social organizations and non-profits to increase their efficiency, capacity to acquire and use knowledge and information, to mobilize resources and to use technology. Makaia has been supporting and training social organizations for more than 6 years with more than 250 organizations supported. This knowledge and expertise will be used and shared in this project. Technology will be a key enabler of the organizations capacities.
Non-profit and social organizations would be more efficient and effective, will have the capacity to maintain long lasting relationships with partners and beneficiaries, they will improve their competences, they will properly manage the information, they will benefit from the use of ICT and they will improve their knowledge management and will have better capacities to mobilize resources. As a result, they will be able to offer a better service to their beneficiaries and improve their impact.
