Our commitment with the capacity building

By Luz Maria Ostau De Lafont | Communicator

Makaia is a social not-for-profit organization that promotes the institutional strengthening of civil society organizations, social enterprises, local governments, not-for-profit organizations and Social Responsibility Initiatives, committed with the social and economic development of Colombia and Latin America.

The institutional strengthening of these organizations includes building and strengthening their capacities so they can provide better services, be more efficient in the search and use of their resources, improve the monitoring and evaluation of the projects and improve their projects and services with updated and relevant information from national and international sources.

This project will contribute with our mission of strengthening the capacities of all these organizations based in Colombia and Latin America, through personalized support and group trainings. With your donations we will have tools and knowledge to support the work of the organizations so they can provide better services, be more efficient in the search and use of resources, improve the monitoring and evaluation of the projects and improve their actions with updated and relevant information.

In the almost seven years of our history, we have been able to realize that non-profits usually don´t invest in their own institutional strengthening. Non-profits in our context tend to think that the money they should use in their own capacity building is better spent in their beneficiaries. We are working hard to show them they are wrong: the more they care about their strategies, their team work, their project design and evaluation and  their institutional strength, the more beneficiaries they will be able to reach, the more their relationship with donors and allies will be improved, the more funds they will be able to raise.

We sincerely invite you to share this project with the people you know so we can all build up a strong social sector. You can also follow us on Twitter and Facebook and visit oue website www.makaia.org
