The "Manantial de Esperanza" project will provide daily nutritious meals and quality early education to 53 preschool children in Venezuela, where hunger and teacher shortages threaten the future of learning. We will train 20 teachers with updated, contextually relevant strategies and empower 12 women school cooks with vocational skills to support the programme: nurturing their communities through nutrition, knowledge, and dignity.
"Manantial de Esperanza": Growing Healthy, Learning Strong - A Comprehensive Early Childhood Programme of Nutrition, Education, and Empowerment. Venezuela's crisis leaves teachers earning $7 a month, emptying classrooms and weakening early learning. Children arrive hungry, harming focus and growth. With scarce resources and unstable support, vulnerable communities face deep barriers to education, nutrition, and childhood development.
The "Manantial de Esperanza" project supports preschoolers' nutrition and cognitive development through daily meals and enriched learning. Teachers receive certified training via Andres Bello Catholic University to strengthen early learning outcomes, while women cooks gain vocational training in nutrition, safety, and entrepreneurship. Children's growth is regularly monitored, and families are engaged to ensure a resilient, community-led, sustainable model.
The project enhances development in Venezuela by boosting children's nutrition, growth, and long-term academic achievement. Certified teachers stay in classrooms, creating stable, resilient learning environments. Women cooks earn income while supporting programme sustainability. Shared data on children's growth and nutrition guides national efforts, and stronger family-community bonds ensure lasting impact.
