As we begin the New Year, we are pleased to share an update on the Happy Old Age Home, an initiative dedicated to providing care, protection, and dignity to destitute and homeless elderly individuals.

Currently, the Happy Old Age Home shelters 20 elderly residents, aged between 60 and 90 years, who were rescued and brought to the home from various villages and mandals across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. These elders were living in extremely vulnerable conditions before joining our facility.

Prior to their arrival, many of these senior citizens—especially elderly women—endured severe hardships. Several were abandoned by their sons, daughters, and in-laws and were forced to beg on the streets to survive. Through continuous counseling, compassionate support, and motivation, SERUDS was able to help them leave behind these painful circumstances and transition into a safe, caring, and dignified living environment.

At the Happy Old Age Home, we provide comprehensive and holistic care, ensuring that every resident’s basic and medical needs are met. This includes:

• Three nutritious meals every day, prepared to meet their dietary requirements

• Clean, safe, and comfortable accommodation

• Regular medical check-ups by qualified doctors

• Essential medicines and healthcare support

The positive transformation in their lives has been truly heartwarming. Today, the residents are healthier, happier, and emotionally secure, finding comfort in the peaceful and supportive atmosphere of the ashram. Many no longer dwell on their painful pasts and instead enjoy the companionship, care, and respect they now receive. Regular health monitoring has significantly improved their physical well-being, allowing them to live their golden years with peace and dignity.

We extend our deepest gratitude to you for your continued monthly support toward the SERUDS Old Age Home. Your generosity ensures that abandoned and destitute elderly individuals receive nutritious food, proper care, and a safe place to live with dignity. We are sincerely thankful for your timely contributions that help us meet the daily needs of these vulnerable senior citizens.

In 2012, SERUDS established the Old Age Home to protect elderly persons who were neglected, abandoned, or forcefully sent away by their families. Since then, we have been providing complete care to 20 deprived senior citizens from rural villages of Kurnool District. These individuals, aged between 60 and 90 years, now have a peaceful place to live, free from loneliness, hunger, and insecurity.

At the Old Age Home, the residents receive a nutritious diet three times a day—early breakfast, wholesome lunch, and light dinner—according to their health requirements. Many of them suffer from chronic illnesses such as diabetes, hypertension, and cholesterol-related conditions. To ensure their well-being, we take them regularly to senior medical specialists for health checkups. Based on medical advice, we buy prescribed medicines and provide them at the right time.

With the onset of winter, we also distribute woolen blankets to keep the elderly warm and comfortable. Our dedicated staff looks after them with compassion, ensuring they feel valued, respected, and cared for.

Today, the elderly beneficiaries are living happier, healthier lives. They have found companionship among other residents and have slowly overcome the painful memories of their past. The joy and peace you see on their faces is a direct result of your kindness and support.
