Good Cause Foundation recognizes that parents and guardians play a critical role in supporting children's education and overall well-being. To strengthen family involvement in learning, the organization conducted a parent engagement seminar aimed at equipping caregivers with knowledge and practical skills to better support their children's academic journey.
The seminar brought together parents, guardians, teachers, and community leaders to discuss the importance of education, student motivation, communication between schools and families, and strategies for creating supportive home learning environments. Participants also learned about the challenges many students face and how parental encouragement can positively influence academic performance and school attendance.
During group discussions, parents shared their experiences and challenges related to supporting children in school. Facilitators provided guidance on monitoring academic progress, encouraging positive study habits, addressing behavioral challenges, and helping students set educational goals. Many parents expressed appreciation for the opportunity to learn and exchange ideas with other caregivers.
The seminar strengthened relationships between families and schools, creating a stronger support system for learners. Teachers reported increased parental involvement following the event, with more parents attending school meetings and taking a greater interest in their children's education. One parent shared that the seminar helped her understand how simple actions such as checking homework and discussing school activities can greatly influence a child's success.
By empowering parents and guardians, the project is helping create an environment where children can thrive academically and personally. Strong family support remains one of the most important factors in educational achievement, and we thank our donors for helping make these valuable learning opportunities available to families in underserved communities.
