One Million Leaders Africa Fellowship Program

By Mary Afolabi | OMLA Project Leader

OMLA - One Million Leaders Africa - is a flagship project of NELIS (Next Leaders' Initiative for Sustainability).
Presently, we are running the first pilot of the program with 23 young leaders from 14 African countries - hopefully, they will spearhead this movement which continues until 2030.
These young leaders, also known as OMLA Fellows after undergoing a two-month hands-on training on building social entrepreneurship and leadership skills are currently in the stage of recruiting 50 young leaders that are passionate to make change happen in the world; starting from their immediate community.
Rosemary, one of the OMLA Fellow rescued a brilliant 14-year-old girl from child marriage with the skills she got from the fellowship training. The young girl (who likes to remain anonymous) has now continued with her secondary school education and is among the top-ten in her class.
While Africa is taking the lead, we also have teams in Latin America (OMLATAM), Asia (OMLAS), and MENA (OML-MENA) working on creating THEIR model for the One Million Leaders' Transformative Leadership Curriculum. The goal - highly ambitious for sure! - is to empower 1 million next-generation leaders in EACH of these regions in the next 8 years.
If you want to be involved, to support (also financially), or to take part in moving it forward, do be in touch any time via omla@nelisglobal.org
And, BTW, all teams are led by women!
Presently, Mary in Nigeria, Gloria in Colombia, Rashmi in Nepal (along with Boon from Singapore), and Abeer in the West Bank!
