We are pleased to share another positive update from the Health Center. Nearly one year after the initiation of the project, we recently conducted a monitoring visit alongside one of our long-standing supporters. It was inspiring to see the lasting impact of the improvements and how well the facilities continue to serve patients and healthcare staff.
The sanitation facilities are being used daily and remain in excellent condition. The rainwater harvesting system and safe water storage units are functioning effectively, providing a reliable source of water that supports hygiene and cleaning needs at the health center. The project has become an important part of the daily operation of the facility, demonstrating the value of investing in sustainable WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) solutions.
During our visit, we informed that if additional funding to reach the goal comes through the platform of GlobalGiving we will be supplying cleaning and hygiene supplies to help the health center maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients and staff.
One routine maintenance need identified during the visit is the replacement of one ceramic filter candle. The health center's water filter system includes two filter candles, and one was accidentally damaged during regular use. Replacing this single component will restore the system to its full treatment capacity and ensure the continued provision of safe drinking water for patients, caregivers, and health personnel and additional filter will be needed as well.
One of the most rewarding moments of the visit was meeting a group of expectant mothers who had come for their prenatal appointments. They shared how much they appreciate having clean, private bathrooms available and that will be using them during their monthly checkups and will make their visits more comfortable and dignified. Hearing directly from the women who benefit from the project was a meaningful reminder of the difference your support continues to make.
Thank you for making this project possible. Your generosity continues to improve healthcare services and provide safe water, sanitation, and hygiene for families in Honduras. Together, we are creating healthier communities and ensuring these essential services continue to benefit people for years to come.
