Nadi Filters for Flood Victims in Pakistan' on Global Giving Project Report: : JAN 2012 – MARCH 2012

Report

The Water Filters were constructed in the flood affected village of lower sindh, Malti, Pakistan. Almost 123 families benefitted from these water purifying Nadi filters.

The number of households using Nadi filters in the flood effected villages of lower Sindh in year 2012 will be increased by 10,000, during which 123 Nadi filters have already been constructed and successfully running  in Malti area. We have actually set a goal above this, which is to try to get 12,000 Nadi filters into different villages by the end of year 2013.

The household members were very happy with Nadi filters and they told us how much difference it has already created in their lives. After we completed the construction for the 123 Nadi filters we called the beneficiaries using the rural committee members and asked them about their experience of Nadi filter so far.

Mrs. Shafique says, “ Me and my children were suffering from many diseases like diherea and other stomatch problems due to contaminates water usage, we are poor people who cant afford filter and other purifying material, AHD by bringing this household simple Nadi filter which id made of mud and is very easy to use and construct has made our lives easier and much more safer, now I am not worried about my family and specially children health, God bless AHD and your supporters”.

Safe drinking Nadi filter project for flood victims reached up to 2,500 Nadi filter units in one year time frame; total 20,000 people have access to safe and clean drinking water

Thanks all of you, the snaps showing the fast and quick progress of the project and we hope the donors once more will trust AHD that we can be able to support more flood victims in the year 2012, our plan is to support more 2,500 families in the year 2012 and for this we will need your all support. Nadi filter units provided in Thatta, Tando M. Khan and Badin districts but majority of Nadi filter units installed and provided to Thatta district as per project plan
