Paridi is the 4th of 6 children of a struggling family from Sragen, Central Java. Paridi had to struggle to pay his own school fees as well as helping the education of his younger brothers that made him to bury his dream of becoming an Accountant through University. Currently, Paridi works at YUM as a bookkeeper and he wants to improve his quality of life by enrolling at the Faculty of Economy. This project will help his university fees, books and study expenses for a period of 4 years.
According to a World Bank study, close to 60% of youths in Indonesia are unemployed. This situation is influenced by the difficulty to access high-quality education due to poor economic conditions. Moreover, workers in the informal sector remains high compared to developed countries. Paridi's example to go to university will give hope to many young people in the community to improve their quality of life, as well as their families, and break from the cycle of poverty.
Paridi wishes to enroll to the Employee Class which takes place every Saturday from 8am to 5pm at Faculty of Economy at the Institute of Bisnis Nusantara majoring in Accounting. This will enable him to continue working at YUM as Bookkeeper from Monday to Friday. This project will help Paridi to cover costs such as tuition fees, books, stationary and other expenses that are required in his course that obviously cannot be afforded by Paridi's family.
