By Paridi Akbar | The person that you support
My dear donors,
I hope this letter finds you well.
This semester, I am still working on my final paper. I used to go to the library to collect data but since the outbreak, most of the time I do online searching. My paper is about the effect of profitability on dividend policy and debt policy on stock returns. The objects of my research are property, real estate, and construction. The first and second chapters have already been approved by my advisor. Now, I am moving to the third chapter.
I had a consultation with my advisor scheduled for the next couple of months but unfortunately, one of the students at my university was positively infected by the Covid-19 virus and to anticipate the virus spreading, since July, all of the university's activities were canceled, including my consultation. I am really disappointed with this situation but I can only wish things will be better soon.
On the other hand, I am grateful that all of my children have completed their studies and are able to continue their education to a higher level. In accordance with the Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture’s announcement, they will continue to learn from home until the end of the year. My wife focuses on helping my youngest child learn; he is in the 2nd year of primary school. While my older children are able to cope with their lessons and seldom need my help. Every day, I struggle with office work, writing my final paper, and helping my children to study. But despite all of the hassle, I cannot stop being thankful for having all of my family members together in fit and healthy condition.
After four months of being home everyday, we finally went to our relatives' home recently. He lives near a fishing pond and we spent the whole afternoon fishing and having lunch there. My children were very happy because it had been months since they were allowed to do outdoor activities.
That is all from me now. Thank you for your kind continued support for my study. I wish all the best for you and your family. I very much hope that this pandemic will be over soon.
Warmly,
Paridi
