An education center for children with disabilities located in East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia is in need of safe and proper facilities to conduct learning activities and therapies for their students. This project will provide needed equipment for the school health unit and suitable training for the teachers and parents.
Pelita Harapan Disabilitas Flobamora (PHDF) located in Kupang, West Timor, East Nusa Tenggara currently conducts its activities in rented classrooms with poor building condition. The center also lacks proper furniture, equipment and facilities.
Happy Hearts Indonesia will rebuild the school to consist of classrooms, toilet, furniture, educational toys, and an outdoor playground. This project will specifically fund the school health unit to purchase needed equipment and provide therapy training for the teachers and parents.
The school currently has 40 students enrolled. With proper facilities, equipment and training, the school will be able to provide better care and education for the students. As the only registered education center for children with disabilities in West Timor, PHDF will also be able to reach and educate more children with disabilities in the area.
