DTI Foundation is a non-profit organization focused on the development of organ donation and transplantation systems through training, technical assistance, and international collaboration.
2. Activities in the Philippines2.1 Sister Transplant Center Program
DTI Foundation implemented a Sister Transplant Center (STC) program in the Philippines in collaboration with international and local institutions. One of the main partner hospitals was the Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC).
The program duration was seven years.
2.2 Training and Capacity Building
During the implementation of the program:
1,262 healthcare professionals were trained
Training activities included seminars and online sessions
Educational content focused on organ donation and kidney transplantation processes
3. Clinical Activity
54 kidney transplants from deceased donors were performed during the program period
4. Institutional and Regulatory Actions
A local ordinance related to organ donation was approved in Davao City during the implementation period
5. Summary of Results
Implementation of a structured transplant capacity-building program
Training of healthcare professionals
Development of deceased donor kidney transplantation activity
Institutional collaboration between local and international partners
