Free Physiotherapy to 100 people with disabilities

AIFO’s Sparshaguna physiotherapy center provides free physiotherapy services to people with disabilities. Physiotherapy services started in November 2021. During Dec 2021 and Jan 2022, Physiotherapy center activities were put on hold due to the third wave of omicron/covid 19 in India. We resumed the regular physiotherapy services from Feb 2022.

During this period, AIFO’s Sparshaguna effectively treated eight patients and was given functional improvement.

• One burns victim patient with very sensitive skin and limited joint mobility has improved drastically.
• Another gentleman who underwent a renal transplant attended regular physiotherapy for neuropathy and his activity level increased.  
• One woman nonhealing ulcer on her leg improved very well with physiotherapy, LASER, and nursing care.
• Two senior citizens with arthritis issues recently among whom one was advised for surgery for which they were not ready. We were able to do a good job which has reduced his pain to a larger extent.
• Three more people affected by leprosy also receive physiotherapy and wound care services in a residential home for their non-healing ulcers.
