JUNE-SEPTEMBER 2024

AIFO with the help of Sparshguna team has been quite actively participating in different events and organizing various camps in the last quarter.

In Gulbarga, we have conducted two camps in the month of July and August. In the first camp, we distributed the assistive devices to 21 people for whom measurement was taken in May 2024. The second camp was a screening camp conducted for 17 disabled children in between 1-8 years of age in which we assessed them and taught them the basic exercises to the primary caregivers. Along with the camps we also visited 11 patients in the community for whom it’s a challenge to be moved to any other location, and helped them with basic interventions. In the meanwhile, our community workers dedicatedly were visiting the patients, both adults and pediatrics. Every month they have been identifying around 15 new cases and we try to address to their problems, teaching basic exercises, transfers, social schemes.

In the month of July, we gave away three Neomotion vehicles and one wheelchair to our beneficiaries. Their lives have become much more easy, comfortable and they feel independent after using the above.

At Summanahalli, in-patient center, totally 19 patients have been registered by now, many have been successfully rehabilitated and discharged. Currently, we have 5 patients in the inpatient facility. We are continuing to give regular physiotherapy services in form of group exercises to the leprosy people staying in the campus and individual sessions as and when required for few people.

AIFOs Sparshaguna team conducted a follow up camp at The Project Vision, Gauribidanur for the 33 people to whom assistive devices were distributed in the first quarter of this year. It was a pleasure to see people using the devices efficiently for their daily work and hear their comfort stories after receiving the products.
