Sparsaguna team has geared up a little more in the last quarter and tried to help a few more people in need.
In January, both Sparsaguna and AIFO conducted a community camp covering eight patients in and around Attibele and Anekal. The camp included one psychiatric patient, two paediatric cases and the rest were SCI and other neurological issues. One SCI patient could be managed to be shifted within a week to the Summanahalli centre for rehabilitation. The psychiatric patient is being followed up for treatment with the concerned doctors. The paediatric group was taught home exercises, their other needs like assistive devices and education is being followed up and taken care of.
The rehab centre in Summanahalli has successfully discharged 4 patients post-rehabilitation. Now, there are 4 patients admitted among which two are SCI patients, one stroke case and the other with some neurological issues.
The Gulbarga team has started giving equal attention to the paediatric cases along with SCI patients. The last paediatric camp where we covered 55 children, was an eye-opener for us to understand the need of rehabilitation in this group. Our regular community work would definitely help us reach more needy people and improve their quality of life.
