Rural Iraq faces challenges due to drought, erosion and desertification. In Iraq, in addition to the weakness of the structural processing capacity in reducing the entrepreneurial capital and thwarting human development. This initiative enables children to experience at an early age they can make a difference. Inspired by Mary, whose short life in her fight against cancer and his love for the outdoors now empower many children to become passionate adults who are responsible for the environment.
The project will plant trees with young children in 5 villages and rural districts. Several types of trees suitable for the tropical climate will be planted. Community leaders and school heads will be made aware of the benefits of planting trees and the environment. By providing environmental skills and knowledge to rural school children, children will be empowered to protect their local environment. The community will benefit from generating income from the fruit.
Because of the awareness this project has generated, children and the community will learn to care for trees, not cut them down. Knowledge of tree planting and protection will be passed on to future generations. If this project is successful, we will identify additional sectors in which trees can be planted, and spread our good work.
