Dear Patron,
This is the progress report on our ongoing effort to plant 50,000 trees. In our last project, we successfully planted 40,000 trees, demonstrating strong community engagement and effective implementation. Building on that achievement, we have started preparations for this year’s expanded target.
Rwaydavo continues its commitment to environmental restoration and reforestation. The team has been actively preparing soil, mixing organic fertilizer, and filling planting bags to support the next stage of seedling development.
We began by collecting fertile topsoil from selected areas and screening it carefully to remove stones, sticks, and other debris. This ensures a clean and healthy growth medium for the young saplings. Organic fertilizer—mainly well-decomposed manure—was added to enrich the soil. Our standard mixture consists of approximately 80% topsoil and 20% organic fertilizer. The soil and fertilizer were thoroughly mixed to create a soft, well-aerated blend suitable for seedling roots.
After preparing the soil mixture, clean poly bags were arranged and filled about three-quarters full. The soil was lightly compacted to remove major air pockets while keeping enough looseness for proper aeration and root expansion. Once filled, the bags were neatly arranged in rows to support effective watering, shading, and monitoring within the nursery.
The next steps include transplanting the saplings into the prepared bags, continuing regular irrigation and care, and gradually expanding nursery operations to reach our 50,000-tree target.
The attached photo shows the soil mixing and planting bag preparation process carried out by the team.
To help us reach our goal, we kindly request your support. Your donation will directly contribute to the cost of seedlings, organic fertilizers, planting materials, and field operations. Any contribution—large or small—will strengthen our reforestation efforts and benefit the communities we serve.
We sincerely appreciate your continued generosity and partnership with Rwaydavo.
