Project Report for Pakistan Green Movement Campaign
Planting for a Greener Future: Mobilizing Youth and Communities Across Pakistan
Under Alkhidmat’s Pakistan Green Movement Campaign, launched in March 2024, we have set an ambitious target to plant 10 million trees by 2025. To date, we are proud to report that 1.5 million trees have been planted in cities across Pakistan. With a special focus on combating smog and air pollution in Lahore—one of the most polluted cities with some of the lowest air quality levels—we have planted over 500,000 trees in Lahore alone. This effort is a key step in addressing urgent environmental challenges and improving air quality for the city’s residents.
To bring this vision to life, we’ve actively mobilized youth as volunteers and engaged civil society in large-scale planting drives. We’ve partnered with leading universities, including UCP, UMT, UOL, LUMS, MUST, BZU, PU, RIPHAH, and other institutions, drawing over 20,000 students to participate in various campaigns. In collaboration with the Provincial Horticulture Authority (PHA) Lahore, we have planted trees across public spaces and university campuses, promoting a vision of a greener, more sustainable Lahore and beyond.
This campaign is fueled by the collective commitment of communities, students, and dedicated volunteers. Together, we are building a greener Pakistan, one tree at a time. Thank you for your continued support in making this vision a reality for future generations.
