The Power of Play has successfully undertaken the repair and maintenance of both playgrounds situated in the Juvenile and Women's sections of the Juba Central Prison in South Sudan.
Upon inspection, we observed that certain items in the female section had incurred damage, likely due to their original design for young children being utilized by adults. Additionally, a few elements in the juvenile section required repairs due to heavy usage.
Our local team, led by Seme Michael, managed the project, with all welding and repair work carried out by the inmates themselves. Seme and his team not only addressed the necessary repairs but also imparted new skills to the inmates and ensured they received meals during the process.
We are delighted to witness the positive impact of our playgrounds, serving as valuable and well-used spaces within the prison.
