In May - June 2020 we ran our Summerization campaign on GlobalGiving in order to raise funds to help 2000 refugees living in the olive groves surrounding camp Moria on Lesbos survive the harsh Greek summer. Our goal was to raise USD 25,000 to purchase relevant items for families, to equip tents with fans and mosquito nets and to create shaded areas.
Unfortunately the campaign on GlobalGiving didn't reach a lot of people and raised only USD 145 - yours included for which we are grateful!
The good news is that we did manage to raise funds through some other channels which means that we are now fulfilling our targets as set for this campaign. We will distribute sunscreen, mosquito repellent, water bottles and sun hats to 1000 families. Also, we will equip about 400 tents with fans and fly catcher tape and spray our entire area against mosquitos. Last but not least we create shaded areas in each of our zones: the office area (where people are often waiting outside), the WASH areas and areas for people to relax, play and be together.
