We are very excited to announce the arrival of new volunteers at Julio Otoni!
They are from the US, France, Canada and England. They are staying for the next few months and will be dedicating themselves to teaching english, helping out with school homework and developing sports and games activities for after school.
The children always love meeting new people and talking about the different places they come from - it has been a great way for them to develop social skills, as they open themselves to learning about other cultures and sharing about their lifestyle, and are always fascinated with different ways of life (we had a volunteer from Sri Lanka once, who would wear is sarong and the children were very inquisitive as to why he was wearing a "skirt"!).
This weekend we celebrated Easter with chocolate eggs and games. It was also a great oppotunity for the kids to introduce their families to our new volunteers!
