After the winter break, Centro Comunitario Julio Otoni has resumed its vibrant schedule, welcoming children back into a supportive and engaging learning environment. The afterschool tutoring program is once again offering assistance in IT, mathematics, and general homework, ensuring that students receive the academic guidance they need to succeed. Alongside study sessions, children also enjoy recreational activities such as capoeira, which help them stay active while celebrating cultural traditions.
The community is especially excited about the return of English classes, taught this season by two American volunteers. Their focus is on helping younger children, ages six to eight, practice pronunciation and reading skills in a fun and interactive way. In the images shared, the children are seen eagerly participating, repeating words aloud and following along with simple texts. This renewed program highlights Julio Otoni’s commitment to providing both educational support and enriching cultural opportunities for local youth.
A big thank you to our donors who support us in creating a safe space for children and adults at Julio Otoni!
