Happy Ending for 2015 at Julio Ottoni

The spirit of a community can be present at certain favelas in Rio. At Julio Otoni this has been one of the goals over the years of the Julio Otoni Community Center which many donors have supported through Global Giving. The focus of the project has been to contribute to the development of 50 children which we engage in our after school programs but often we also create opportunities to benefit many more children and members of the community.

On December 18th we organized a Christmas party for the whole Julio Otoni Favela. Children which attended the permanent programs at Julio Otoni helped creating the activities for the event. There were games, food, gifts offered to the other members of the community. Indeed a healthy and auspicious atmosphere in the spirit of the culture our center wants to propagate in every member of the community: be responsible for its own change.

In 2016 we will celebrate our tenth anniversary. In these ten years the community center has become a reference point of positive transformation for the community. We count that your support will continue.
