Strengthening Communities: In 2024, we reached 15,000 families with our malaria prevention initiative, providing them with education and tools to fight this disease. There were no malaria deaths reported among those we served, indicating the effectiveness of the mosquito bed nets, the provision of education on malaria prevention, and demos on the proper use and care of mosquito bed nets.
Malaria is an Ongoing Concern: Malaria remains a significant health threat, especially in places like Zambia, which has one of the highest rates of malaria. The WHO reports that Sub-Saharan Africa accounted for 94% of global malaria cases and 95% of deaths in 2023, with 76% of all deaths among children aged under five.
2025 Objectives We plan to distribute 15,000 long lasting insecticide-treated nets and education on malaria prevention. Direct beneficiaries of our malaria prevention program are young children, children/adults living with HIV and/or TB, HIV+ pregnant women, pregnant women, older adults living in rural/peri-urban/urban resource poor areas.
How you can save lives: At this time, we are raising funds to provide 15,000 long-lasting insecticide treated nets and education on malaria. This will benefit 55,000 children or 30,000 adults as each net can sleep up to four children or two adults. Help us reach our goal by donating generously. Every dollar that goes towards malaria prevention saves lives.
We look forward to another year of keeping families safe from malaria and in good health.
