Challenge

According to HDR 2018, Pakistan's mean years of schooling for Females is 3.8. Pakistans Gender Inequality Index value is 0.541. Over 90% of girls enrolled in government schools come from low income household. The education is of poor quality and the curriculum does not give basic training to earn a living. These young girls often drop out due to family pressure, closed mind set & unavailability of funds. The education imparted would lead them to be hired as a house maid or clerical job.

Solution

Projects on the Go - Our mobile makerspace for young girls targets the twin problem of relevant skill based education as well as improving the prestige for technical and vocational education and training at crucial stages of a child's life. 1. Young girls will receive education that adequately equips them for their future career. 2. They will be offered alternative pathways, so that they can gain skills needed to earn a living, live in dignity & contribute to community.

Long-Term Impact

The Project will educate 1000 girls from 10 low income govt schools. It will aim; 1. To develop the skills and values that will prepare them for future. 2. To encourage interest and confidence in pursuing skill based education and careers among young girls and help them earn livelihood. 3. To give access to hands on learning and teach them to start their own businesses 4. To develop innovative (and integrated) solutions & remove the cause of gender based human under-development in Pakistan.
