In a year where many of us find ourselves disconnected, Amani has ramped up efforts to keep children connected to their families and help parents cope with stress. Our on-site social worker, teaming up with the social welfare office, led regular child protection and advocacy community seminars. We make sure even the chaos that the pandemic brings doesn't derail our community and on-site initiatives to advocate for children's rights.
Amani also facilitated holiday visits home for children whose families are able to host them. We had our big holiday celebration, reminding staff and children alike that even in the most difficult times, we find joy and hope. Students participated in graduation ceremonies with their families, sharing their achievements and celebrating their dreams for tomorrow. Finally, our rainy-season soccer games provide a chance for family, friends, and neighbors to connect. We've been hard at work fostering healthy relationships through fun, and it gives us all a sense of meaning despite this challenging year!
