Many Nigerian children and adolescents live with HIV and trauma from losing at least one parent or both to AIDS. The cuts in international HIV/AIDS treatment funding like USAID leave them in stigma, treatment interruptions, and risky life decisions. Empower Future Initiative will provide counselling, emergency medical care, ART support, and adolescent life skills education to 1,000 vulnerable women and children, helping them stay healthy, in school, and empowered for a safer and resilient future
International funding cuts have weakened HIV/AIDS services, leaving adolescents with HIV to face stigma, trauma, and poor treatment adherence. Many lost parents, experience school dropout, unsafe sexual practices, and early marriage. Government facilities lack adolescent-focused services, psychosocial counselling, and palliative care. Without support, this generation faces health failure, social isolation, and lifelong vulnerability.
Empower Future Initiative steps in where global funding falls short and bridges gaps in government HIV services by offering counselling, ART adherence monitoring, emergency medical care, adolescent life skills, and home-based palliative support. Prioritizing girls and vulnerable children, we ensure they stay healthy, in school, and equipped to transition safely into adulthood.
We aim to help 1,000 HIV-positive children and adolescents grow into healthy, empowered adults. The program reduces stigma, strengthens resilience, prevents new infections, and equips adolescents to advocate for HIV awareness. This generation will model safe, healthy lives and contribute to an HIV-free, sustainable future in Nigeria.
