David can hear again / David escucha de nuevo

We want to thank you for making health care possible for our children. Without your constant support we could not provide them with the care they deserve while recovering a family for life.

David, one of our four-year-old children, came to our home with a severe hearing problem from repeated otitis. Unable to hear well, David could not enjoy, like the rest of the children, of the rounds, playtime, the moments of reading and, most importantly, of the learning in the kindergarten and of the interaction with his companions.

Thanks to you, we were able to take him to the otolaryngologist, where he was diagnosed with severe and profound otitis, caused by the inflammation of the eardrum which generates a fluid that obstructs auditory functioning.

David had a tympanostomy tube. In a surgery with general anesthesia, they made a small incision in the eardrums and sucked out all the accumulated fluid. Then a small tube was placed in each ear; this allows air to enter so that the pressure is equal on both sides of the eardrum. This prevented David's hearing loss and reduces the risk of ear infections.

Now he can listen, have fun and enjoy like the rest of his friends, thanks to all your support!
