Carlos, an 8 year old boy, came to the CRAN Foundation in 2011 with serious dental problems. Since then he has received a prophylactic treatment with orthopedic tools such as a Hawley plate on the upper and lower teeth to help them straighten-out.
Thanks to your support, in 2013 nearly 50 children, like Carlos, have had monthly dental visits at the San Martin University Foundation.
Many children in the CRAN Foundation require dental interventions due to negligence by their adult guardians early in life, poor nutrition—lacking calcium, or a combination of the two. At CRAN, these children are given the opportunity to see a dentist for the first time and receive regular check-ups every 6 months. The dentist opens their clinical history and provides oral treatments and follow-up.
Each day our children are taught good oral hygiene and guided in their healthy habits by an adult. Thanks to your help the children of the CRAN Foundation have a better smile! GRACIAS.
