This season, give a gift that lasts a lifetime. Children living with albinism face daily threats to their health, safety, dignity, and inclusion. In Nigeria, extreme sun exposure leads to life-threatening skin cancer, while stigma and discrimination push many families into isolation and poverty. This project will provide life-saving sun protection, healthcare access, education support, and community advocacy to help women and children with albinism live healthy, confident, and dignified lives
Albinism is a genetic condition, yet many affected women and children are treated as outcasts. Most families cannot afford sunscreen, protective clothing, eye care, or regular medical checkups. As a result, preventable skin damage leads to skin cancer and becomes life-threatening, children drop out of school, and women face deep social isolation.
This project will implement a holistic protection and empowerment program for women and children living with albinism by distributing medical-grade sunscreen, hats, sunglasses, and protective clothing. Providing free skin cancer screening and basic eye care. Supporting school enrollment and learning materials for children. Organizing community awareness sessions to fight myths, stigma, and discrimination. Offering psychosocial support to women and caregivers.
No child should suffer or die because of the sun. No woman should be dehumanized for her skin. By supporting this project, you are protecting lives, restoring dignity, and challenging harmful beliefs. One woman, one child, one community at a time. Together, we can help them stand in the sun safely, proudly, and without fear.
