Many students with physical disabilities attend school without proper walking aids. Some use unsafe tools or lean on others to move between classes. This project will provide 200 walking aids-adjustable, strong, and school-friendly-to students who need them. The goal is to help them walk safely, reduce falls, and make daily school attendance easier. These tools will be delivered directly to schools in areas with the greatest need.
Students with disabilities often attend school without any proper walking aid. Many depend on sticks, tree branches, or help from others to move between classes. This increases their risk of injury, slows movement, and affects learning. Most families cannot afford safe walking aids, and schools in rural areas lack support services for mobility needs. As a result, these students face daily hardship in simply getting to class.
This project will provide 200 walking aids to students in need through selected schools. The aids will be safe, lightweight, and adjustable to each student's height. Health workers and teachers will help with fitting and use. Distribution will be handled locally to avoid delays and extra costs. With these aids, students can move around school safely and attend more classes without relying on others.
Students who receive walking aids will move safely and attend school more often. This will reduce falls, increase comfort, and ease pressure on teachers and caregivers. Over time, it can lead to better school completion and inclusion of disabled students. Schools involved in the project can also start small support systems to help other students with mobility needs in future sessions.
