A warm Greeting from RSKS India
Hunger: - "Hunger" is the one which constrains anybody to do anything. Street and Slum children are the living testimony of it who commit crimes as theft due to suffering from hunger. Under the project "Provide Gift and Food to Poor Street Children", with the support of the donors, it is being attempted to enlighten the sombre life of these street children.
On the occasion of "Holi" - the festival of colors, the volunteers of Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan celebrated the festival with the street and slum children live nearby Bridge in Ajmer. On this occasion, under the project, the organisation distributed gifts, water guns, colors, chocolate, pastries, packets of delicious food and sweets among 30 street and slum children. And these children had good time and enjoyed their celebration of festival. The children distributed sweets in joy among themselves and felicitated each other for the festival Holi. They played Holi with colors and colored themselves. They were so happy and it seemed that it was the first time when they had such happiness on the occasion of Holi. A 9 years old girl - Reshma have a talk to one of our volunteers as follows:
After getting delicious food, toys, colors and water guns Reshma held the of the volunteer and asked, "Are you God ?"
The volunteers got the jitters and covered his ears by hands and said :
No son, I am not God !
Reshma again smiled and asked :
"Then you must be friend of God."
Since I requested to God last night to get me yummy food, toys and water-guns full of colors.
After Listening to Reshma, the volunteer went silent and had no answer !
The words of a 9 years old helpless and destitute girl child got the volunteer sentimental.
After being acquainted to all that we feel that we are doing good. And all of this is becoming possible just because of the help and support of GlobalGiving and the donors.
